Annual Meeting of The Condensed Matter Physics with Atomic Physics Division of the Norwegian Physical Society

The 2006 annual meeting will take place at Wadahl Høgfjellshotell 13.-15. September 2006. Wadahl høgfjellhotell is located at Gålå near Vinstra in Gudbrandsdalen. The hotel is located in a nice mountain area with possiblities for outdor activities (see www.wadahl.no).

The meeting will start Wednesday September 13th at noon, and will close Friday September 15 at noon. There will be a number of both international and Norwegian invited speakers (40 minutes talks including questions), and contributed talks (20 minutes including questions). There will be about 10 invited talks.

The cost of participation for 2 days (hotelroom including food) will be 2040 kr (single room) and 1840 kr (shared room). Travel and a small registration fee (se below) in addition.

There are a limited number of fellowships available for master students who wish to participate at the meeting, the fellowship covers all expenses for participation, including travel.

On Thursday afternoon (14th of September), alternative leisure activities are planned:
Alternative 1): Organized mountain walk.

On Thursday September 14, 1800-1830, the annual meeting open to members of the Divison, will take place:

The electoral comittee suggests three candidates for the new board:
Ole Martin Løvvik from the University of Oslo/IFE/Funmat
Ladislav Kochbach from the University of Bergen (relection)
Bo-Sture Skagerstam from NTNU/Complex
(Two of the current board members, Jon Otto Fossum, NTNU and Geir Helgesen, IFE leave the board)
ii) Short update on ESRF in relation to Norway (Slides prepared by Prof. E. Samulesen)
iii) Etc

    Practical information:
    • Partcipants pay transport and hotel independently directly. The hotel accepts credit cards.
    • Bring registration fee in cash, we do not take credit cards: The registration fee is 300 Nkr for members of nfs and 300 Nkr+ 1 year NFS membershipfee for nonmembers of nfs.
    • Bring your swimming gear, the hotel has a swimming pool.
    • If you need anything special for the meals (vegetarian food for example), send mail about it to jon.fossum@phys.ntnu.no
